Job introduction
Brighton and Hove has an extensive outdoor events programme ranging from small community gatherings to major events such as the Brighton Marathon and Pride.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to lead on the development of the city's outdoor events programme and be responsible for the implementation of our strategic plan.
About the role
You will have a proven track record in delivering major events and you will be experienced in actively seeking out new opportunities to enhance our city's reputation. You will be comfortable and confident dealing with regulatory issues - for example by presenting to the city's safety advisory group - as much as with negotiating financial arrangements with commercial producers.
Effective partnership working is key to the successful and safe delivery of all events. Your work will be fundamental to building strong collaborations with event organisers, statutory agencies and related bodies.
The city's annual outdoor events programme is an important part of attractiveness of Brighton and Hove to residents, as well as vital to the visitor economy. You will take a lead role as contact for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, where Brighton & Hove is a host city.
Interview date: Tuesday 28th September 2021
For an informal discussion, please contact Donna Chisholm at Donna.Chisholm@Brighton-Hove.gov.uk
