Job introduction
The Governors of Peter Gladwin Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced Clerk. We are a friendly school, with a highly committed Governing Body. The Clerk would be responsible to the Governing Body and the Chair of Governors.
Paid weeks per year: 52
Start date: As soon as possible following interview
About the role
We are looking for someone to provide administrative support and advice on governance issues to the School’s governing body. This would involve sending out notices/agendas of meetings, taking minutes and keeping records. The post would suit someone who is proficient in word processing and other PC applications and who has effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of a Clerk to Governors role would be desirable.
The Local Education Authority provides regular support and training for Clerks through briefings, courses, websites, newsletters and personal contact.
Flexibility in terms of working hours is required as Governors’ meetings may take place outside normal office hours. The salary reflects a notional number of working hours per year.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has spare time in the evenings or after school, and would like to have an involvement in education.
The post requires a full DBS clearance prior to commencement.
