Job introduction

Goldstone Primary School is a large 3 form entry school with 650 pupils.  We are seeking an Individual Needs Assistant, to work closely with and support a child within a classroom setting. 

Paid weeks per year: 47.15 (INA); 43.7 (MDSA) inclusive of holiday entitlement

Fixed term: Until 31st August 2022

Start date: 2nd September 2021

 

 

About the role

The successful candidate will be capable of offering high quality input and support in all areas of the curriculum. Experience in working with children with additional needs, particularly autism would be desirable.  The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am until 3.15pm. The vacancy also includes a lunchtime duty.  This is a 1 year fixed term contract initially.

Desirable skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly autism
  • Experience of, and ability to work with, children 1-1, in small groups, and in class
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning

  • Firm, kind and flexible approach
  • Ability to work under the general guidance of the Class Teacher.
