Job introduction

St Peter’s is a friendly, one form entry primary school and we are seeking to appoint an HLTA to cover teachers’ Planning, Preparation & Assessment time. It is intended that the role will complement the professional work of teachers with the person appointed taking responsibility for specific learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. The position will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for whole classes, monitoring and assessing pupils, and recording and reporting on their achievement, progress and development.

You should be flexible and resourceful and willing to support the inclusive ethos of our school as you help to advance and develop our children's learning.

Paid weeks per year: 47.15 inclusive of holiday entitlement

Fixed term: Until 31st August 2022

Start date: As soon as possible

 

 

About the role

The successful candidate will need:

  • A minimum of five  GCSEs, including Maths and English grade C or above
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • To hold HLTA qualified status (or QTS status)
  • To be able to used ICT effectively to support learning
  • A very good understanding of the school curriculum for primary aged children (Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2)
  • The ability to relate well to young children
  • Experience of working as an HLTA or similar position

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
