Job introduction

City Academy Whitehawk is a vibrant and growing school with 399 children currently on role.  We are seeking an Administration Assistant to provide maternity cover for 30 hours per week, working in our busy school office until 30th June 2022.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of customer service with excellent organisational and time management skills. As first point of contact for parents and visitors, we are looking for a good communicator with both adults and children alike.  This is a varied role and flexibility is required as priorities can change throughout the day.

Fixed term until 30th June 2022 (maternity leave cover)

Paid weeks per year: 44.65 inclusive of holiday entitlement

Actual salary: £13,445 pa

Start date: As soon as possible

About the role

The role involves a variety of general clerical and administration tasks to support the school.  This will include – updating pupil records, the administration of trips, clubs and health and safety documentation and administration of our nursery documentation.

As the main point of contact in school for the administration of our breakfast club, the candidate will be required to make weekly food orders and also collect bread from Greggs who is our breakfast club sponsor.  Occasionally, you may be required to make trips to local supermarkets to purchase items.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential; knowledge of Arbor and Parentpay is desirable.    

You will also be required to administer first aid to children and adults (training will be given if necessary).

Working hours will be 10.15am to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday (term time only).

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
