Job introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rough Sleeper & Single Homelessness Commissioning Team in coordinating and delivering services for rough sleepers.  The role offers the opportunity to work with statutory and voluntary partners to develop the operational and strategic response to rough sleeping across Brighton & Hove.  The post will;

  • Develop service, partnership and city wide provision for people who are or who are at risk of rough sleeping.
  • Be responsible for the implementation and management of support and accommodation services funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. 
  • Ensure that all activities relating to the City’s Rough Sleeping Strategy are effectively coordinated with service users and key stakeholders.


Fixed term for 12 months

About the role

Are you passionate about ending rough sleeping?

Brighton & Hove City Council has been awarded funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for a series of initiatives to end and prevent rough sleeping.  This includes funding for a Rough Sleeper Services Co-ordinator.

The Role;

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rough Sleeper & Single Homelessness Commissioning Team in co-ordinating and delivering services for rough sleepers.  The role offers the opportunity to work with statutory and voluntary partners to develop the operational and strategic response to rough sleeping across Brighton & Hove.  The post will;

What we are looking for;

We are looking for someone with operational experience of homelessness or rough sleeping and knowledge of the challenges facing Brighton & Hove, with an understanding and willingness to work at a wider strategic level to tackle rough sleeping.  The successful candidate will have experience of contract or performance management and be able to work on their own initiative to create effective and lasting partnerships with key agencies.

Post Information:

The post will be based at Hove Town Hall however the role will require travel to services and offices across the city.
