We have an exiting opportunity for an experienced Reviews Officer to join our Reviews team.
The Reviews team are responsible for carrying out reviews of homelessness decisions for Brighton and Hove City Council and a number of other local housing authorities.

About the role
We are looking for a Homelessness Reviews Officer to determine requests for reviews made under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended)
You will have experience of working in a busy office environment and effectively managing a caseload with the ability to prioritise your work to meet the demands of the service and adhere to strict deadlines.
You will have the following key skills and attributes:
- Significant experience of making decisions made under part 7 of the Housing Act 1996
- Good investigative skills
- Experience of interviewing homeless applicants
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended ) and other relevant legislation and case law
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to make well reasoned arguments and impartial decisions
- Ability to work autonomously and calmly under pressure
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
