Job introduction

Westdene is an inclusive and popular primary school situated to the north of the city.  The school is seeking to appoint a well organised, efficient Assistant Site Manager to join our school to provide assistance around the school during the Covid-19 pandemic – this is a Facilities Support Level C role. 

Paid weeks per year: 52

Fixed term: Until 31st August 2021

Start date: As soon as possible

 

 

About the role

The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive and able to resolve facility issues.  The main focus of this role will be to support the School Business Manager in looking after Health & Safety in all areas of the school, ensuring relevant paperwork is both up to date and organised.  Duties will also include being the first point of contact for matters regarding buildings, grounds, security and maintenance of the site, general cleaning duties as required, supporting parents/carers on and off the site and also to supervise (and cover when necessary) our part time Caretaker.  It is preferable that the successful applicant will have a good range of skills and experience including a good level of building maintenance, ideally gained in a similar environment together with general DIY skills for hands on repairs and maintenance and basic administrative skills. 

This is a busy and varied role so you will need to be flexible and practical in your approach, coupled with a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements.  This is a fixed term, part time position.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
