Job introduction
Are you looking to gain experience working with children in a school setting?
Grade: Scale 1/2
Paid weeks per year: 43.60 inclusive of holiday entitlement
Fixed term: Until 31st August 2021
Start date: As soon as possible
About the role
If you are good with children and have a genuine interest in childcare we would really like to hear from you. Previous experience in a similar role is not essential as training will be provided. Suitable candidates will be expected to have a caring and patient manner. You could be based in the school hall where the children eat, in the playgrounds or in the school office administering basic first aid and will be:
- Encouraging healthy eating and good manners
- Helping to set up and clear down the school hall ready for the lunch service
- See that any spillage is removed quickly and trays are cleared appropriately
- Assisting the children during meal time where necessary
- Ensuring the safety of children
- Actively supervising outdoor play and interacting with the children
- Supervising children in their classrooms on wet days
- Providing basic first aid
Location: Westdene Primary School
Hours: Monday to Friday 11.50am – 1.20pm. The role is available for 5 days or days as candidate prefers

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
