How employing an apprentice works
Apprentices combine paid work with study to gain skills and knowledge in a specific job. An apprenticeship takes between one and 6 years to complete.
At the end of the apprenticeship there will be an independent assessment, called an ‘end-point assessment.’ This is an opportunity for the apprentice to show they’ve got the skills they need to continue in their occupation.
