Ageing Well Brighton & Hove
Ageing Well Brighton & Hove provides signposting for people in the early stages of dementia, including those seeking diagnosis, support, or local groups and activities.
All partner-led activities are dementia friendly, and the Hop50+ café in Palmeira Square hosts 2 weekly dementia groups: Pit Stop and Hop Stop.

Alzheimer's Society
Alzheimer’s Society offers face‑to‑face and phone support for anyone concerned about memory, living with dementia, or supporting someone who is. They provide information, signposting, and ongoing support, with expert staff who listen, answer questions, and connect people to the help they need.

Seniors Housing
Brooke Mead is Brighton & Hove City Council’s city‑centre extra care housing scheme, offering accessible homes with on‑site care and tenancy support as needed.
Residents can live independently while enjoying communal spaces, a private garden, and year‑round activities.

Brighton & Hove Libraries
Brighton & Hove Libraries are accessible and offer:
- a wide range of formats, including large print, audiobooks, picture books, and dementia‑friendly books
- the Reading Well for Dementia collection, selected by health professionals and people with lived experience to support people living with dementia and their loved ones
- exempt library cards for people with dementia who may find it difficult to return books on time

Pedal People (Seafront base, Madeira Drive)
An all‑ages, all‑abilities cycling charity offering inclusive rides across Brighton.
Supporting wellbeing for older adults and people living with dementia, disability, or health challenges, with shared rides along the seafront and green spaces alongside carers, friends, or family.
The charity trains carers, friends, PAs, and family members to cycle pilot rides, using easy‑to‑ride side‑by‑side electric‑assist tandems (pedal or non‑pedal) and specialist trikes.
Book activities directly on the Pedal People website. No-cost donations are very welcome.

Monday 18 May
In Mind Dementia Café
Weekly group sessions provide a welcoming, safe space for social interaction whilst building a supportive community. With arts-based activities, flexible to the needs of guests, including music, chat, relaxation, fun and laughter.
The cafe is open for carers for some respite while the session is taking place.
Time: 1 to 3pm.

‘Drawing and Making’ Gentle Art Taster
Join Jane Fordham and Esther Marshall, artists from Fabrica gallery, for a gentle art taster session in support of Dementia Action Week. They run calm and stimulating art sessions catering to our participants' interests in a sociable, relaxing atmosphere.
Time: 2pm to 4pm.

Love to Move and Time to Chat
Seated exercise session, with music from the 50s and 60s, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The session is suitable for all, including those with dementia and limited mobility.

Cost: First session is free, then £7 per week.

DASHBrighton (Dementia Arts Support Hub)
Arts workshop and carers support, followed by a pay-as-you-feel 3-course lunch.
Hosted by St Luke's Prestonville and delivered by DASHbrighton and The Real Junk Food Project. Open to guests with dementia and their carer.
Time: 11:30am to 12:30pm, followed by a pay-as-you-feel lunch.

Music and Memories
A welcoming age and dementia friendly space. Enjoy games, puzzles, and a live rolling entertainment programme.
Designed for those with dementia and their loved ones, it’s a space to share stories, enjoy live entertainment, and connect over a cuppa. Whether you’re reminiscing or just enjoying good company, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
Runs bi-monthly on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Drinks and snacks are included.
Time: 1pm to 3pm.

Enjoying Everyday Connections with Someone Living with Dementia
An informative session looking at positive ways to enjoy your time with people who are living with dementia. Topics include understanding dementia and learning from lived experience.
The session is suitable for volunteers and professionals only.
