Information about childminder drop in sessions

Babies attending a group at a children's centre

Childminding Drop-ins [PDF95KB] provide free sessions for childminders and the children in their care.  They run during term time only and sessions will resume on 7 September 2015 at Moulscoomb, 11 September 2015 at Tarner and 16 September 2015 at West Hove. They include a range of resources for the children to enjoy and provide opportunities to meet other childminders and for children to socialise in a group environment.

Each childminder is expected to bring a healthy snack to the drop-in which will then be shared amongst all the children at snack time.  It is the responsibility of the childminders to ensure that the children in their care are not exposed to anything that they may be allergic to.  You will also need to make available to other childminders the ingredients in the snack you have provided.

The Early Childhood Project offer support around equalities and inclusion.  They are based at Tarner Children's Centre and offer a toy library, training, play sessions and much more.

The Family Information Service webpages tell you about all the groups and activities for children in the city, including free activities in their holiday activity round-ups.

The city's library service runs lots of groups for young children including regular storytimes for under 5s and the very popular baby boogie sessions.

The city has excellent parks and play areas that offer children a range of exciting and interesting experiences. You can also catch up with the Playbus and enjoy their brilliant resources and activites in different venues across the city.
