We offer a range of part-time qualification and community learning courses for Brighton & Hove residents aged 19 and over.

About the Adult Education Hub

The Adult Education Hub gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and improve your career options.

Find a wide range of classes and workshops are including courses in:

  • work and employability skills
  • pre-employment training for specific city industries
  • English, Maths and English For Speakers Of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • wellbeing and personal development

Our Adult Learning Programme is carefully targeted to meet the needs of local people. We work with our communities, local enterprise partners and key stakeholders to ensure learning opportunities reach those that need them most.

We look forward to helping you increase your skills.

Our courses are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the majority are free.

Multiply adult numeracy programme

The Multiply adult numeracy programme is a range of new intensive and free flexible maths courses targeted at people without level 2 maths. These courses will result in a functional skills qualification.

Digital and Employability Skills (L2)

Brighton & Hove City Council is working with Creative Process to deliver Digital Skills from December 2020. It is an intensive digital and employability skills course designed to help people get into work and gain essential digital skills to compete in today’s job market. 

Priority learners will be those who are out of work and qualified below Level 2 and or from deprived parts of the city.

Adult and community learning supply chain policy 2023 to 2024

Step By Step

The Step by Step Project is a 6 or 12 week, 1-1 learner-centred programme, focussed towards improving English, maths or digital skills for residents living in supported housing, who have had a history of homelessness or rough sleeping.
