Saltdean Undercliff Healthwalk
Meeting in front of Saltdean Library this 3 mile walk will take you along the Undercliff to Ovingdean and back to the Whitecliff cafe. There is the opportunity to stop off in Rottingdean on the way back or return to the Whitecliff Cafe in Saltdean.
This is a moderate walk of three miles on flat terrain. The last Friday of the month you can walk on through to the marina. There is sometimes an option to walk up and around the back of Rottingdean providing there are enough volunteers.
All Healthwalks are free, led by trained Volunteer Healthwalk Leaders and on public-transport routes. There is no need to book – you can just turn up. On your first walk you will need to fill out a simple health questionnaire. You can print and complete this in advance, or simply turn up ten minutes early so that a walk leader can give you a form to fill out. For all subsequent walks you will just need to add your name to the register.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. On exposed walk routes, it is also a good idea to have a drink and sunscreen with you. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on the walks, with the exception of the cemeteries walk.
Public holidays, severe weather and a combination of high winds and a high tide may cause the walk to be cancelled.
