Badgers ‘Downs On Your Doorstep’ Progression Walk
This is a more challenging, 4.5 mile progression walk, featuring hills and uneven ground, and taking in the downland of Whitehawk Hill and Sheepcote Valley, with wonderful views across the city and out to sea. It is a circular walk and returns via East Brighton Park to the Tennis Club, where you can enjoy a cuppa afterwards.
All Healthwalks are free, led by trained Volunteer Healthwalk Leaders and on public-transport routes. There is no need to book – you can just turn up. On your first walk you will need to fill out a simple health questionnaire. You can print and complete this in advance, or simply turn up ten minutes early so that a walk leader can give you a form to fill out. For all subsequent walks you will just need to add your name to the register.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. On exposed walk routes, it is also a good idea to have a drink and sunscreen with you. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on the walks, with the exception of the cemeteries walk.
