What we can fund from the Estate Development Budget

The EDB could provide money for a project that will improve the local community and quality of life of tenants

The EDB could provide money for a community project that result in one of the following:

  • an improvement to a council housing owned building or community facility
  • an improvement to council housing owned land or local environment

All projects must benefit the quality of life of council tenants and leaseholders

Criteria for projects

Your project must:

  • involve as many of your neighbours as possible and be supported by them
  • be able to be completed in the same financial year
  • •    not cost more than £10,000 for main bids and £1,000 for quick bids
  • not be something that could be done as a repair or as part of a larger maintenance programme

If your project is for fencing, we’ll only fund communal fencing. We can’t fund fencing for individual properties.

  • cycle storage
  • patio areas
  • new footpaths
  • refurbished handrails
