Find out what an industrial process is, who needs to apply for a permit, and how to do it.
Who needs a permit
You may need a permit if you run industrial processes, like refining gas or melting some metals.
We issue permits based on the government guidance. We’ll consult with relevant members of the public and other organisations, where necessary.

How to apply for an industrial process permit
Any permits we give must include conditions to minimise and prevent air pollution.
You must put the conditions of the permit in place. We may do an inspection to make sure you maintain the agreed conditions.
You need to pay a one-off application fee, and an annual fee. We decide the cost based on how the business performs.
