Current work being done to the area
Archaeology checks are taking place on the site during June and July 2024. Construction of the rainscape will follow.
We’re working to avoid tree loss wherever possible, but due to the depth and location of the main power cable and other underground services, we will be removing 3 trees. These will be replaced with 24 new parkland trees, 8 orchard trees and areas of hazel coppice, increasing the park’s biodiversity.
We’ll be upgrading the pond next to The Keep, linking it to the wetland area in the park, and installing new pathways, seating, bins and signage.
Visitors will still be able to use the main part of the park, but during the construction phase, some paths may be closed for short periods around the entrance, swale and rainscape areas. During these times, there will be clearly marked alternative routes.
