Funding and management
The Wild Park rainscape was started by:
- The Aquifer Project (TAP)
- a group of local water experts from our flood risk team
- the Environment Agency
- Southern Water
- the South Downs National Park Authority
- the University of Brighton
It was co-ordinated by The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere.
TAP secured £2.4m funding from the National Highways Environment and Wellbeing Fund for the rainscape. Find out more about The Aquifer Project.
Brighton & Hove City Council led the construction, and the contractor was Mackley, a local civil engineering company.
Community engagement was led by the Trust for Developing Communities.
