We are a specialist weight management service for children and young people with additional needs. Our aim is to help children make positive changes to their eating and physical activity habits, so they feel happier and healthier.
Children and young people who are above a healthy weight are at greater risk of developing health problems in later life. For example, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Our goal is to help children to make healthy lifestyle changes so they can grow into healthy adults.
We also aim to help children and young people who have emotional issues related to their weight. For example if they have poor self-esteem, negative body image, or are being bullied.
Helping your child change their eating and physical activity habits can be challenging. We support families with setting personalised, realistic goals. We then provide ongoing support to achieve those goals.
