The SEN Team manages the processes around Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and plans.
We work with parents and carers of children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities. We also work directly with young people with SEN or disabilities.
In addition to working with families, we work with nurseries, schools and colleges. We liaise with professionals across education, health and social care services. We gather information about children and young people with additional needs. We do this to see if your level of needs means that you need an EHC plan to support you.
If you have an EHC plan, you will have your plan and the support you need reviewed every year, and we will see whether your plan needs to be changed.
We follow the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND code of practice in our work. This guides us in many situations, including when someone disagrees with a decision we have made.
We also help plan the education, health and social care provision needed by children and young people with SEN or disabilities. We do this by working with families, colleagues in the council and health services, and Amaze and PaCC.
