Cherish offers specialist services for young adults 16 to 25 years old with learning disabilities who want to have fun, make friends, socialise and build life skills.
We offer youth clubs and young adult groups during term-time and minibus day trips during Easter and summer holidays. We have a high staff to service user ratio.
Our minibus day trips are open to all, with booking forms available in late February and early July.
Previous trips include a visit to an art gallery in Eastbourne, fruit picking on a farm, and fun at the fair in Littlehampton.
Cherish was originally set up by Brighton parents in 1985 as Children’s Extra Recreation In School Holidays to provide a holiday service as there wasn't one available at the time.
Staff at Cherish include specialists who work in general education, special schools, or disability-related fields.
How to get support from us
Ask your social worker to refer you so that you can get support from us. Contact us to refer yourself if you're a parent carer or a young person.
We don't provide a drop-in service, so term-time places are usually not available. However, you can ask to go on our waiting list.
