About Bikeability cycle training courses
Bikeability level one (ages 9 to 14)
The children learn to carry out a simple bike check, safe start and stopping procedures, turning left and right and they learn how to use the gears on their bicycles. The training takes place on the playground.
Level one is two sessions of one and a half hours on consecutive days.
Bikeability level two (ages 9 to 14)
The children revise the previous level. They learn to turn left and right and pass parked vehicles. They learn road signs. The training takes place on the road near to the school where suitable junctions can be found.
Level two is five sessions of one and a half hours on consecutive days.
Bikeability level three (ages 11-14)
The children revise levels 1 and 2. They learn to work on junctions, roundabouts, traffic lights, multi lanes and changing lanes. The training takes place on busy roads and complex junctions where suitable junctions can be found.
Level 3 is four sessions of one and a half hours on consecutive days.
Bikeability courses in school holidays
We provide courses for children in Hove Park and Preston Park during the school holidays.

Half terms (October, February and May)
Level 1 and 2 - The course is run over four days, 10am – 12.30pm each day. For 9 to 14 year olds.
Level 3 – The course is run over three days, 1.15 – 3.15pm each day. For 11 to 14 year olds.
Easter holidays
Level 1 and 2 - The course is run over four days, 10am – 12.30pm each day. For 9 to 14 year olds.
Level 3 – The course is run over three days, 1.15 – 3.15pm each day. For 11 to 14 year olds.
Summer holidays
Level 1 and 2 - The course is run over four days, 10am – 12.30pm each day. For 9 to 14 year olds.
