The graph shows the estimated percentage of the population in private households who have COVID-19 by week for Brighton & Hove, the South East and England. It does not include those in hospitals or care homes.
The Office for National Statistics and the Department of Health and Social Care, working with the University of Oxford and Lighthouse laboratory (to collect and test samples), survey the population living in private households each week, with respondents sending a swab to be tested for COVID-19. This data is used to estimate the number of positive cases in the population and changes in COVID-19 infections.
