Who could vote
To vote in the referendum you had to be:
- registered to vote by Tuesday 18 November
- a resident of the West Saltdean neighbourhood area or a registered Crown servant or service elector in respect of an address in the neighbourhood area
- aged 18 or over on polling day

- Tuesday 18 November – last day to register to vote
- Wednesday 19 November, 5pm – last day for us to receive your postal vote application
- Wednesday 19 November, 5pm – last day to cancel your postal vote
- Wednesday 19 November, 5pm – last day for us to receive proxy applications if you, or your proxy, already have a postal vote in place
- Wednesday 26 November, 5pm – the last day for us to receive any other proxy vote applications
- Wednesday 26 November, 5pm – last day for us to receive your Voter Authority Certificate application
- Friday 28 November – first day to reissue replacement postal votes
- Thursday 4 December – polls open from 7am to 10pm
- Friday 5 December – ballot papers counted
