Upcoming elections and referendums
The next elections and referendums in Brighton & Hove will be:
- Brighton & Hove full City Council elections – Thursday 6 May 2027
- Rottingdean Parish Council elections – Thursday 6 May 2027
- Election for the Mayor of Sussex and Brighton – Thursday 4 May 2028
Who can vote
To vote in these elections you must be registered to vote and meet the eligibility criteria for that election.

How to vote
You can:
- vote in person at your designated polling station
- apply to vote by post
- apply to vote by proxy (appointing someone to vote for you)
Voting at your polling station
You must bring an accepted form of photo ID.
Your polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm.
Your polling station will be on your poll card, which we’ll post to you about a month before polling day. We’ll also email you with this information if we hold your email address.

Accessible voting
It’s important that everyone who has a vote is able to use it. There are accessibility arrangements in place at polling stations, and options for those who are unable to get to their polling station.
