Where to register when you're a student

If you're a student living away from home, you can register to vote at your home and term-time address. This means that you can vote wherever you are at the time of the election. Only one of these addresses can be in Brighton & Hove.

If you register at two different addresses, you can:

  • vote at local elections in both areas because they are two separate elections
  • only vote from one address for national polls, such as a general election or referendum

It's illegal to vote more than once in the same election.
