Results of the Brunswick & Adelaide by-election on 4 July 2024
A poll to elect a ward councillor for Brunswick & Adelaide took place on Thursday 4 July 2024. It happened at the same time as the poll for the UK Parliamentary general election.
This vacancy was caused by the resignation of Jilly Stevens.
Ollie Sykes was elected as Councillor for Brunswick & Adelaide ward.
Results
The results were as follows:
- BURTON, Alice - Labour Party: 1,873
- GILLESPIE, Jamie Rutherford - Independent: 98
- LACHLAN, Claire - Liberal Democrats: 389
- SYKES, Ollie - Green Party: 2,193
- WOODLEY, Chris - Brighton & Hove Independents: 588
The turnout was 65.14%

To vote in these elections you had to be:
- registered to vote by Tuesday 18 June
- a resident of Brighton & Hove or a registered Crown servant or service elector
- age 18 or over on polling day
- a British, Irish, or EU citizen, or a citizen of a Commonwealth country

- Friday 28 June – the first day to reissue replacement postal votes
- Thursday 4 July – polls open from 7am to 10pm
