We need to develop significant insights into what disability and disabled expatriate, migrant, refugee and asylum seeker experiences look like for those who move to and seek sanctuary in Brighton & Hove.

It's our ambition to be an inclusive city for all newcomers. We're committed to becoming re-accredited as a City of Sanctuary.

As part of our wider equality, diversity and inclusion work, we plan to work with our Migrant, Refugee and Asylum Seeker team and manager at Brighton & Hove City Council to understand:

  • disabled lived experiences from an intersectional perspective
  • what support we need to provide to diverse disabled people and their carers
  • how disabled people and their carers can be impacted by the pressures of being newcomers

Support we provide for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees

We provide information for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

We also provide a directory of support resources for refugees.
