Emergency out of hours contact details for social care.
This telephone referral service is for emergencies outside office hours only. The service operates in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove. Around 9,500 calls are dealt with over the year, half of these within the Brighton & Hove area, it is a very busy service.
When you call the social care out of hours service, a call-centre operator will first ask you for your contact details, eg your name, telephone number and address. Next they'll take the details of the problem and attempt to contact agencies or support organisations that might be able to help you or the person affected.
Unfortunately, depending on the needs of the situation and people involved, the service may be unable to source immediate help. If this happens the call centre operator will forward your requirement to the social care teams for when the office reopens.
Mind in Brighton and Hove provide a number of contacts for support in a crisis.
