What is data protection and what we do with data we hold about you.
The UK Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation relates to a wide range of personal data, not just that held in computer systems. It now includes data held in manual filing systems, video and closed-circuit television images (CCTV).

Request access to your own information
Request by paper form
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you.
You'll need to provide a copy of your identification (ID). We need your ID so we can make sure that we don't release your personal information to anyone else. The types of identification we accept are listed on the form.

Request by email
You do not need to fill in the form but it helps us to know what teams you'd like to receive information from.
If you do not want to fill in the form please send an email to DSAR@brighton-hove.gov.uk and include:
- your full name
- your ID
- what information you'd like - the more detail the better
- what teams within the council you'd like this information from
