Get involved in council decisions

What consultations are, how you can respond to them and what we do with the results.

What a petition is

A petition asks the council to change or take action on something.

Sign a petition

If you agree with what a petition asks us to do, you can sign it to show your support.

Find a petition to sign.

Start your own petition

Petitions can be about anything the council has the power to change.

You can collect signatures online, on paper or a mixture of both.

You can start your own petition.

Present your petition at a meeting

People can sign your petition for a set period of time. After this time, if you have more than 1,250 signatures you can present it at a council meeting for discussion.

Read our guide to petitions for more information about starting your own petition.
