Using office equipment at home

If you need to equipment to support you working at home, please speak to your manager in the first instance.

Your DSE assessment should consider whether the equipment, like that you are familiar with in the office, is suitable for working at home.

At this time, Workstyles can no longer provide equipment from the corporate offices and items should be purchased as follows:

  • monitor and HDMI cable, keyboard and mouse – purchase from IT&D
  • orange Box Being US office chair – purchase from Posture People
  • specific DSE equipment – purchase from Posture People.

It may be that alternative equipment is more appropriate for a home environment. If the DSE assessment recommends any equipment this will need to be purchased by the service.

Services should use their usual budget code along with the new classification code COVIDSE for any related purchases so that spend can be monitored.

Please note that for any furniture or equipment already borrowed by individuals and kept for a long time (ie beyond Covid-19 related restrictions on office space), then the service will need to replace the item so that their team area is fully stocked.
