Video on £12m govt funding towards Brighton arena

Recent news of £12m government funding towards a new arena and conference centre at Black Rock in Brighton is welcomed in a new two-minute YouTube video from Brighton & Hove City Council - click the link below.

It features an explanation of how the venue could be built as part of the wider £500m Waterfront regeneration project.  This would involve demolishing the existing Brighton Centre and using the site to extend Churchill Square shopping centre to the seafront.

Council leader Warren Morgan says the government's £12m is: "a tremendous boost for the Waterfront project, specifically the Black Rock site, where we're hoping to build a world class conference and entertainments venue."
