Shoreham Harbour Regeneration
Shoreham Harbour Regeneration is a partnership of Brighton & Hove City Council, Adur & Worthing Council, West Sussex County Council and Shoreham Port Authority. The partnership is working on a joint project and has prepared a Joint Area Action Plan (JAAP) to facilitate the regeneration of Shoreham Harbour and surrounding areas.
Shoreham Harbour Joint Area Action Plan (JAAP)
The Shoreham Harbour JAAP is a key planning document and will form part of the development plan for Brighton & Hove and Adur. It provides the framework and guidelines for developers and clarifies the land to be regenerated, as well as what kind of development is acceptable in the area.
On 31 May 2018 the authorities submitted the plan and all representations received during the publication stage to the Secretary of State for public examination in Summer 2018 by an independent inspector. Examination hearings have now taken place and a consultation on modifications to the plan will take place from 5pm on Monday 21 January 2019 and end at 5pm on Monday 4 March 2019. It is anticipated the plan will be formally adopted in 2019. Once adopted the JAAP will form part of the development plan for the area, alongside the Brighton & Hove City Plan, the Adur Local Plan and waste and minerals plans
The examination page, latest news, previous consultations and other supporting evidence are available on Adur & Worthing Council's website
