Brighton & Hove City Council has carried out a screening exercise to determine whether the Rottingdean Neighbourhood Plan will require a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). The screening exercise indicates that an SEA will not be required. This has been confirmed by consultation with the South Downs National Park Authority, and the three statutory environmental consultees: Natural England, the Environment Agency and Historic England.
Neighbourhood Area Application
The approved neighbourhood area matches the area of Rottingdean Parish Council. This includes land that is within the South Downs National Park. The application to designate the neighbourhood area was submitted jointly to Brighton & Hove City Council and the South Downs National Park Authority, and was approved by both.
