Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum Renewal Application - July 2019
The Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum designation lasts for 5 years and expires on 18 September 2019.
The forum has applied to the council to formally renew its designation in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 the Localism Act 2011 and the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
The neighbourhood area boundary remains identical to the original boundary that was designated in 2014. Renewal will enable the Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum to continue to prepare the Hove Station Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
Consultation on the renewal of the Hove Station Forum Designation took place for a period of 6 weeks starting on 4 July 2019 and closing on 15 August 2019.

Regulation 14 Consultation (23 March until 11 May 2019)
Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum undertook their Regulation 14 Pre-submission Consultation on their draft neighbourhood plan 23 March 2019 to 11 May 2019.

Background to Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum and Area
Hove Station neighbourhood forum submitted applications in December 2013 for the designation of a neighbourhood area and to have their forum formally designated. These were open to public consultation from 6 January to 17 February 2014. Both applications were considered at Economic Development & Culture Committee on 18 September 2014. The area sought was refused, however, a smaller area was designated as the Hove Station Neighbourhood Area. The Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum designation was therefore subject to the submission of amendments to accord with the smaller area. Following the submission of the necessary details the Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum was designated on 23 December 2014. Strategic Environmental Assessment
Brighton & Hove City Council has carried out a screening exercise to determine whether the Hove Station Neighbourhood Plan will require a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). The screening exercise indicates that an SEA will be required covering a number of issues. This has been confirmed following consultation with the statutory environmental bodies, as required by the Strategic Environmental Assessment Regulations (Environmental Assessment of Plan and Programmes Regulations 2004).
