If you are unable to use your bus pass because of a disability, you may be eligible for taxi vouchers instead.
If you live in Brighton & Hove, are aged over 18 and willing to forgo your bus pass, you can have £70 worth of taxi vouchers each year. (Or £35 if applying after 1st October. These will last until the following April).
Please complete the taxi voucher request form for a pack to be sent to you. A doctor must certify that you are unable to use a bus or you must provide proof that you are receiving either the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance or a Personal Independence Payment score of 8 points in moving around or communicating verbally.
If you are in receipt of Attendance Allowance, you must provide a photocopy of this letter showing entitlement to this benefit issued within the last twelve months.
If you are a resident of a care home, please provide a letter on headed paper from a senior member of staff confirming that you are unable to use public transport.

When booking, let the operator know you intend to pay with taxi vouchers and show your ID card to the driver when you are paying.
You can use the vouchers to pay for all or part of your fare. Change cannot be given.
