What you can do at the airport
Brighton City Airport (also referred to as Shoreham Airport) is a major base for:
- flying activities on the south coast
- those conducting business in the South East of England. It provides a convenient entry and departure point for France, the Channel Islands and further into Continental Europe
Minutes from the A27, it has excellent road access to the local area and great transport links to Gatwick Airport, London and the rest of the UK. The conference and cosmopolitan resort city of Brighton & Hove and the sea-side town of Worthing are within a short drive of the Airport.
As the oldest continuously licensed airport in the UK, Brighton City Airport has served flying interests since the early days and has a unique character of its own. With a Grade II listed art-deco terminal building (designated as being of significant architectural importance), the Airport retains the ambiance of a more leisurely era of air travel.
Open 7 days a week, with its friendly, personal and stress-free atmosphere, Brighton City Airport's facilities are tailored to today's general aviation needs, with tarmac runways, lighting, fuelling and full air traffic control services.
Full customs and immigration services are also available.
Constant upgrading matches the requirement of the modern traveller.
Inside the terminal there is:
- a passenger lounge and reception area
- meeting and conference facilities
- The Hummingbird Restaurant, which has stunning views across the airport and a lovely outdoor viewing deck for use when the sun is shining
Brighton City Airport welcomes the general public to see and enjoy its many activities. There are official airport guided tours, a viewing area and pay and display parking.
Several of the operators offer private charter flights, flying lessons, or you can take a pleasure flight in a helicopter or smaller aircraft for a bird's eye view of the local area.
