Meerkat Discovery Trail central Brighton - travel information
How to get to the Meerkat Discovery Trail in central Brighton
There are lots of different ways to travel to the Brighton Meerkat Trail.
Walking/scooting
Why not walk, scoot, or skate-board to the trail if you live close by. Or try catching a bus for some of your journey and walking the rest of the way to the trail.
By bike
You can use our on-line cycle map to help plan your route to the trail. There is plenty of cycle parking close by where you can lock your bike.
If you do not have a bike, you could try one of the BTN BikeShare bikes. The bikes are easy to book and there are lots of BikeShare 'hubs' where you can pick one up. There are ‘hubs’ near the trail in Church Street and at Pavilion Buildings. Both of these hubs give you good access to the trail.
You need to register with BTN BikeShare before you can start using the bikes.
By train
Brighton Station is the closest station to the Meerkat Trail. It will take about 10-15 minutes to walk to from Brighton Station to the Jubilee Library Meerkat.
For train timetables, fares and other information visit National Rail.
By bus
There are many buses to choose from, travelling from all areas of the city. Bus stops on North Street, Old Steine and Queen's Road are all within about a 5 minute walk at least one of the Meerkats. Churchill Square is about a 5-10 minute walk.
See the bus company websites to check fares, times and routes: Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, The Big Lemon, and Compass Travel.
