Window cleaner badge

Window cleaner badges are issued if a vehicle is being used to carry out window cleaning duties.
On seeing the badge the Civil Enforcement Officer can assess the situation and check that window cleaning is in progress. If the Civil Enforcement Officer is not satisfied it is taking place a Penalty Charge Notice may be issued.

If you are a window cleaner then you can apply for a window cleaners badge for your vehicle.
Please provide a copy of your public liability insurance to show that you are insured to carry out window cleaning activities.
Please send in copies of the documents do not send in originals.
As an exemption exists in the Traffic Regulation Order there is no charge. The badge is being used to indicate that window cleaning is taking place.
The local Traffic Regulation Order legally provides a parking exemption for vehicles used in connection with the cleaning of windows.
The exemption allows for parking on single or double yellow lines, if there is no ban on loading at the location and it cannot used for the same purpose elsewhere for example a pay and display bay.
The window cleaner badge means that the Civil Enforcement Officer can assess the situation and gives an indication that window cleaning may be taking place.
If the Civil Enforcement Officer is not satisfied that this activity is taking place then a penalty Charge Notice may be issued.
A window cleaners badge is not a permit to park anywhere. You should not cause an obstruction, park dangerously or park on the pavement.
