Surrenden Area Parking Consultation

Residents in this area were consulted in August 2015 in relation to being in a controlled parking scheme, at the time only a small area closer to Fiveways were in favour of a scheme and subsequently included into the Zone F scheme.

Petitions were taken to Environment, Transport and Sustainability (ETS) Committee in June 2016 and January 2017 and therefore it was agreed at that the Surrenden area was added to the Parking Timetable at ETS Committee in October 2017. A deputation from residents and letter from Withdean Ward Councillors was received by ETS Committee on 26th June 2018, requesting that the consultation for a scheme should be brought forward.

In November 2018 it was agreed at ETS Committee that we would consult with the Surrenden area to find out if there is general support for a resident parking scheme and if so, what days and hours of operation might be preferred.

The consultation will take place in early 2020 and results of this consultation will then be taken to the ETS Committee in Summer 2020.If there is strong support and the recommendation from ETS Committee is to proceed the next step would be to consult again with the residents with a detailed design.
