Drop box for permit applications
For customers paying by cheque or postal order for their permit there is a drop box to avoid queuing. Please ensure your application is fully completed (with any required proofs attached) and that your payment is included. Cheques or money orders should be made payable to: Brighton & Hove City Council.
Self service monitors
There are self-service monitors in the centre for customers to use. These will allow customers to apply online if they do not have access to a PC or laptop.
Penalty Charge Notices
We are not able to discuss penalty charge notices in person or on the telephone. We don't accept instalment payments for penalty charge notices.
Appealing a penalty charge notice
In line with the Traffic Management Act 2004, appeals regarding penalty charge notices should be dealt with in writing. The council is not able to deal with appeals in person or by telephone. Find out how to appeal.
Drop box for penalty charge notice appeals
A black drop box has been put in the centre for people who want to just drop in their appeals. Customers will not have to queue to do this.
Paying a penalty charge notice
Payments for penalty charge notices can be made online, by post, or on the automated payment line: 0345 603 5469.
Customers who want to pay cash will still be able to pay for a penalty charge notice at the permit desk.
Lost penalty charge notice
If you have lost your penalty charge notice and need the reference number please email lostpenaltynumber@brighton-hove.gov.uk
You must provide the vehicle registration number and the date the penalty was issued.
