Online permit system shutdown
Unfortunately, the online parking permit system has been subject to a number of issues which are beyond our control. This has become increasingly frustrating for everyone using the system. We are confident that we can offer a better customer service if we shut this system down.
We are still planning to introduce city-wide virtual parking permits in the future but, in order to ensure that we offer a consistent service to our customers in the meantime, please find the process for purchasing and renewing your permits set out below.
Virtual one-day permits
We have now switched off the ability to purchase new virtual visitor permits. However, you can purchase visitor permit scratch cards online.
You can still activate any remaining virtual visitor permit credits that you already have until Monday 15 July. Please note that any visitor permit credits not used before the system closes will be sent out to you in the post as scratch card permits. You’ll have these before the online permit system closes.
If you don’t want to receive scratch card permits and would prefer a full refund of the value of your unused virtual permits, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, address and the email subject ‘Virtual visitor permit refund’. We'll issue a full refund back onto your credit or debit card in 14 working days.
You can continue to renew resident permits using the online permit system until Monday 15 July. After this date, you will be able to renew your resident permit online via our website. Information on how to do this will be provided when we contact you about your renewal.
Anyone on a waiting list for resident permits in zones Y and Z will be unaffected and also keep the same position in the waiting list. If this applies to you, we will contact you nearer the time to let you know how you can check your position online once we close the permit system.
Thank you for your continuing patience while we improve our parking permit system. We know that many residents haven’t had positive experiences with the current system and we are working very hard to fix change and improve this.
