This year we're going digital

We're proud to call Dance Active one of the city’s biggest and most inclusive dance events and this year we're celebrating it virtually. 2020 feels like a real opportunity to embrace the spirit of Dance Active.

Working in partnership with Brighton Martina Studios Dance Hub TV we will bring you free online dance opportunities. We will also offer content about the joys of dance and all its health and wellbeing benefits.

If you have an interest in dance, health and wellbeing, you'll enjoy this year’s offering, which includes:

  • our launch day, a schedule of free online tasters on 5 December
  • additional taster sessions from 7 December to 10 December
  • dance films shared by local dance artists and groups
  • personal stories from local dancers and practitioners
  • a film profiling the Young Dancers Collective in lockdown
  • Dance joy! Dancing on a skateboard? @norah_yarah_rosa? Lots to share…
  • looking back to Dance Active 2018 and 2019
  • list of the best dance films to stream on TV, literature about dance, dance quotes
  • #whyidance - find out what the dance lovers of the city say, including a final #whyidance celebration film edited by Marina Studios filmmaker Josh Brady
