Active for Life programme of community sessions & Healthwalks

The Active for Life programme contains all our regular and special Active for Life sessions and Healthwalks for adults, kids and families.

We have walks and activities for people of all abilities, and lots of sessions and walks that are good for beginners and those currently getting little or no physical activity.

All our regular and one-off walks and sessions are listed, and there is a 'venue list' with bus details too so you can find where to go and how to get there easily.

All our Healthwalks are free, led by trained Volunteer Healthwalk Leaders and on public-transport routes.  All Active for Life sessions are low cost.

Coming to your first Healthwalk or session?

The programme is designed to help you choose the right activity for you. If you are relatively new to physical activity, or unsure of your fitness levels we recommend you start with a green graded session. On your first walk or session introduce yourself to your session leader (Active for Life coach or one of our Volunteer Walk Leaders).  

Please arrive ten minutes early for your first walk or session so you can fill out our simple participation questionnaire, which includes some health questions so that we can help you get the most out of your activity. Once you have completed this form you won't need to do this again on subsequent activitities unless your health has changed. Or, you can download the form you need to fill out in advance and take with you on your first walk (PDF 490KB).
