Libraries can help you if you are looking for a new job. We have many books about careers and applying for a jobs.

Careers service

The National Careers Service advise and help anyone with all aspects of employment, searching for jobs, updating a CV, career changes, or looking for learning opportunities to enhance your skills. Advisors are available for a 1 hour consultation at Jubilee Library, Hove Library and Moulsecoomb Library:

Jubilee Library every Wednesday, 10am to 4pm. You can phone Laura Jones on 07468474715 to make an appointment.
Hove Library or Moulsecoomb Library (alternating), Mondays, 10am to 4pm. You can phone ring Richard Hanscomb on 07391 415740 to make an appointment.

Help with job applications and job searching

Get help from a Library Connect volunteer for online help with job searching/application forms. Library Connect sessions are in most libraries across the city.

Find out about a company

Use MintUK to find company information to prepare for interviews. Also, use the database to get contact details for companies anywhere in the UK in any industry, from hairdressing to chemical engineering.

Starting your own business

There are lots of guides to starting your own business and you can use MintUK to find up to date industry reports and build target mailing lists.

Jobs, careers and skills websites

Information4Living offers links to local jobs and volunteer opportunities and national careers information. You can also access eCLIPS which provides information on over 1,000 jobs and careers at Hove and Jubilee Library.
