The City is historically a popular seaside resort with lots to see including the Royal Pavilion, its piers, specialist shops, the North Laine pavement cafés and vibrant nightlife. Everything is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Brighton & Hove also promotes healthy and environmentally friendly travel including cycle lanes across the city.
Brighton & Hove attracts many musical, artistic and cultural events throughout the year. It hosts the Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe Festival every May, offering theatre, dance, music and comedy entertainment. The City also hosts other events such as Brighton Pride, and the Brighton Comedy Festival
