An apprenticeship is a real job, you will be competing with other candidates for the position so it is very important to be prepared for the interview; the National Careers Service provides advice, tips and information on applying for apprenticeships and the recruitment process.
Our Apprentice Ambassadors visit local schools and colleges to promote apprenticeships. If you would like the Ambassadors to visit your college or school to provide a talk about apprenticeships and to share their experience then please contact ApprenticeAmbassadors@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
Public Sector Apprenticeship target
We have a public sector target around new apprenticeships starts. This target runs from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2021 and is set at 2.3 per cent of the total number of council employees based on headcount. We are required to report annually on our progress towards this target and have submitted our first report to the Department for Education covering the period 2017-18.
The information below is taken from our first annual return to the Department for Education detailing our progress towards meeting the Public Sector Apprenticeship Target. Please go to Brighton & Hove City Council Apprenticeship Statistics to view Brighton & Hove City Council's first report towards these targets.
