Your Energy Sussex & the ECO scheme
Your Energy Sussex
Your Energy Sussex (YES) is an energy saving partnership between local authorities across Sussex. It aims to reduce fuel bills and CO2 emissions for Sussex residents and businesses and has a range of projects across the county. To find out more, visit the Your Energy Sussex website.
Energy Company Obligation (ECO)
If you own your own home or rent from a private landlord there is a government backed scheme which could help you install energy efficient improvements in your home.
If you own your home or rent it from a private landlord and receive a qualifying income related benefit* and/or have a child aged up to 16 years (or 20 years if still in full time or further education) you may qualify for financial help toward the cost of eligible energy efficient work. However, the financial help available to you may not cover the whole cost of having the work done and you may need to pay for some of the work yourself.
*To qualify with some benefits you will need to receive an additional disability payment for you or a child.
The ECO scheme is available through obligated energy suppliers and can help with the cost of installing home energy efficiency improvements.
